Here at GymCube we’re going to cover the Three Phases of Survivorship. So what happens is we start on the Acute phase, where you probably have been going through diagnosis. It feels like this is a lifetime of information and a big waiting game, but this is the Acute stage. And you’re out there trying to do some research, finding out a bit more about your cancer, your pathway, learning stories and gaining information. That’s the first phase, and we recognise that it’s really vital in coping strategies and moving you forward. Then we have the Active phase of survivorship, and that’s you, right there, bang in your treatment path where you might have had surgery, you’re going through your chemotherapy cycles – this is a big deal. It is really, really vital that we’re talking about your future even at this point. And we will be able to help you, here at GymCube, to nurture positive things even in the darkest days. And then, finally, it’s the New Normal. You’re out there, you’ve finished your treatment phase and you’re beginning life – trying to make contact again, or re-establishing work commitments, trying to get some new balance back into your life, and trying to restore harmony, recognising that stress will have an impact on all of those three phases. Now at Gym Cube we are going to be able to give you support around your wellness in terms of fitness, and stretching and keeping your body healthy during this phase. We’ll give you lots of hints and tips but we’re going to be speaking to the experts as well. We will have time to walk through different elements of your treatment when you need it. So there’s no one size fits all. Everything will be completely dependent on you, your age, your state of health right now, but you’ll be able to find things in our programmes that hopefully will give you some positivity towards your survivorship.
